Stopwatch, It's Simple, Students Are Magnetized to Physics
My students need these basic materials to have a hands-on classroom experience that will leave an impression that will last. It is vital this science class to be able to create, re-create, and experience Physics!
In Bossier Parish, there are 6 high schools and the biggest is Airline. The diversity among our students is one of the many ways that makes our school unique.
My students include those who are from low socioeconomic levels through high, ones that this is their first school from being home schooled, gifted students to those who require extra attention, and a variety of cultures.
No matter their differences, my students are quality kids who deserve the best. These students deserve basic materials to help them in their academic journeys.
My Project
Physics is a subject can be easily overlooked by students and is often not chosen to take just on the idea that it MIGHT be "too hard." These students in Physics deserve to experience this science directly in a way that is meaningful and related to the real world.
They have chosen a path that wasn't the easiest one offered and should get to experience the course to its fullest!
The stop watches will be used in a multitude of labs from Kinematics to Waves. The magnet bars will allow the students to see how magnetism can affect more than what they know. The simple machines will be used in stations to provide an up close demonstration to how and why they are beneficial in our world. The circuit kit will allow students to work with circuits and manipulate them to see how changes can affect the outcome.
It would be such a joy to be able to give my students a Physics experience to remember. I want them to leave each day with an understanding of theory but, also, a hands-on experience that will last and get them asking more questions.
