My students all have such unique personalities and are a joy to be around. I am learning what makes them excited to come to school. I have been introducing them to different types of film genres in my Film and Writing class. They enjoy watching new films and films that they have seen multiple times because I give them new things to look for. They have enjoyed films from Black and White to Stop Motion to films from the 30's to 60's. This year I would like to see what they can make using clay and paint to create their own Stop Motion Video.
Students will take notes on what makes a great Stop Motion (animation) movie. I will show them a few films and they will look for ideas. Then I will show them some great YouTube videos on how to make figures for Stop Motion.
They will use wire to make their own figures and cover wire with clay and add wiggle eyes if needed.
They will use their Chromebook to make their video and turn in video to their Google Classroom to save. At the end of the school year, they can show their video during our school talent show.
