Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In today's time technology is constantly surrounding our students. Everything from the phones we use, to the way we turn on the lights at our homes, involves new types of technology. Students are so excited when technology is integrated into our lesson plans and activities. Reading can be so much more exciting when it comes with the experience of using an iPad or laptop.
Over 94% of the students at our school are receiving free and reduced-priced lunch.
I never want my students to feel as if they are not getting everything that they deserve, because of a lack of money. I would like to build a fabulous technology center for my students. The technology center will contain a variety of materials that students will be able to access and learn from, that they otherwise would not have been able to experience.
Reading is such an important aspect of school and I want my students to be excited to come and learn on a daily basis. Allowing students to be able to have access to the newest forms of technology will allow them to get excited about school and learning!
My Project
Allowing students in my inclusion classroom to have the opportunity to use iPads while learning Reading and Writing is a great way for them to get excited about school. IPads are interactive and allow students to read books, take AR quizzes, explore writing and drawing, and so much more. Students will also be able to use apps such as EPIC to read books while in the classroom library.
Students will be able to work in a small group or by themselves while using the IPads.
Students that would otherwise not have the opportunity to use this technology will be able to use it during school!
