My Students

My students have been given a brand new opportunity at a school that was once given up on. These kids had gone through multiple principals, high staff turnover, and when you searched the school, Youtube fight videos were the first topics that popped up.

My students deserve so much more than that.

This, and their community background, makes these kids survivors. Cue Beyonce. This is where you come in. Let's make them more than that together. Let's make them scholars.

My Project

How long do you sit at work before you need to go to the bathroom just to get some fresh air? My students get one gym class time a day and typically two electives a year. This means that they're constantly required to sit for long periods of time. With standing desk and collaboration tables with stools, my teenage students will be able to move around the classroom like they were able to do as elementary students, who still had a passion for learning because learning was fun. We can't let our high school students suffer because they're older. With your help, students will achieve the necessary skills to be college ready with skills like collaboration, communication, critical thinking, curiosity, and creativity.
