Our student body is composed of a variety of cultures, personalities, and learners. The students come to school everyday with the goal of learning and serving each other, and the school that they attend. Each of them is seeking a way to share their voice with the world.
Empowerment is one of the main themes in my class, as students grow as learners and people, while sharing their own thoughts and work.
My students have ideas and concepts to share, of which they are extremely proud. They collaborate with one another on a daily basis, constantly seeking ways to make the world and community a better place.
My Project
These eWriters will allow my students to collaborate on work while transferring to, and promoting a paperless environment! We strive for students empowerment in our classroom, and these Boogie Boards will promote thought and creativity, while meeting my student's desire for a "tree friendly" environment. We work daily with "book clubs" in reading and students share their inferences and monitoring of comprehension, Our students speak openly and freely with one another during this time, bouncing ideas back and forth. With the Boogie Board, they will be able to create a virtual library of their discussions. In math, the Boogie Boards will allow students multiple attempts at a question and to address numerous questions and concepts without using ample amounts of paper or having to replenish our dry-erase marker supply as they dry out.
Why not just use dry-erase you may ask?
Boogie Boards allow my students to use Bluetooth to upload their work to mobile devices and PC's in order to work together on discussions and projects. Where as with dry-erase once they run out of space, their work simply gets erased.
Boogie Boards still promote fine motor and writing skills, as the board is designed to feel like a typical paper and pencil.
