Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

I currently teach 21 first grader students in a magnet school, the school buses the students from all over the city. Many of my students come from high poverty areas in the city and don't have a lot of chances to interact with their peers on a regular basis.

Children need the chance to talk with each other in a safe and fun learning environment. When 21 children are talking in one classroom, it can get very loud and hard to hear. I would like to give the students the opportunity to talk while also having the ability to monitor the the noise level, so that it doesn't get too high.

The Yacker Tracker will allow my students to talk with each other without the worry of being too loud. The Yacker Tracker will allow my students to work together and actually share their ideas while it monitors the class noise level. Students will be aware of when it gets too noisy and begin to regulate their own conversational tones.

I need your help in securing the Yacker Tracker for our classroom. If you select our project, my students will have the freedom to share their thoughts and ideas with others in a safe and fun learning environment.
