This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have all of the students in both TEA and AMS. If my project is funded, it will benefit up to 432 kids per year. My students are an incredibly diverse group both in talent and size! Since my classroom is used by kiddos from the age of 5 years old all the way through teenage years, it needs to be easily accessible for everyone.
My students would love the alternative seating choice of having stools versus traditional chairs.
It would allow my older students more comfort to fit under the tables. My younger students would have an easier time getting on and off of the stools because there would be more room between them versus the chairs.
My Project
My DonorsChoose.org project is to purchase 24 stools for the Art room to replace the current traditional chairs in the art room. The stools would allow students to fit easier around the tables. They are also about an inch shorter than my chairs, allowing younger students better access to get into them and more leg room for my older students.
I have requested the stools to come from the National Public Seating.
These stools are designed with the classroom in mind, meaning they will hold up the abuse of over 400 kids per year using them. They are also an environmentally friendly company that uses the best materials available.
