Stools for Small Group Learning

My Students

My students are all so unique. Not a single student has had a standard experience in school. Their kindergarten year was suddenly switched to distance learning due to COVID. Their first grade year was an hour shorter every day with social distancing and masks being the rule. Now in second grade their year is full of sudden transitions to quarantine and the threat of switching to distance learning always looming.

Through it all, they have been resilient.

There are some very extreme needs in my class as well. Their biggest collective strength is empathy. When I need to focus my attention on a different student because of their specific needs, the rest of the class supports their classmate and me by continuing with whatever task they were supposed to be working on.

My Project

My students came into this school year fairly far behind. They unfortunately had to miss so much instruction due to COVID and other family situations. We spend so much time at my back table working on individual skills in a small group. Unfortunately, very early in the school year the stools we had at that table all broke. I want to make sure they are as comfortable as possible when the come work with me, so these stools will help so much. They can sit on brand new, comfortable stools while catching up on the skills they are missing.
