My Students
"We are a team!" "We are a family!" "We are problem solvers!" These are a few reminders that I tell my students each and every day. As a teacher, I believe it is my job to help prepare my students for their future! I teach fourth grade at a small urban school. Being a teacher in a low-income school district has been so rewarding, but nevertheless, it has its challenges.
Sadly, our funding has been drastically cut, so it is up to the teachers to purchase a lot of the "extra" things and materials to make our school day run smoother.
I don't want our school's funding to get in the way of my ability to learn. I always try my best to provide my students with the supplies they need to learn and succeed.
My Project
I am asking for stools for my classroom! I love working with students at our small group table during class. Small group provides my students with differentiated instruction. It allows me to help students with different skills. Unfortunately, we do not have enough chairs for several students to sit there. Our school has no extra chairs, and some of the chairs that I have are falling apart. The couple of chairs that I have for our table are also too big which limits space for my students.
These stools will give my students the opportunity to learn more!
I also have an area for my students to use our classroom Chromebooks, but we again do not have enough chairs for that area. These stools will allow my students to go to different learning areas in our room. I get so excited with the thought of having more seating! It will allow us to do so much more. I know my students will love the stools! The stools will also provide my students with different seating which will definitely bring smiles to their faces!
