Stools for Maximizing Student Collaboration in Our Limited Workspace!
Help me give my students a place to sit when reading in small groups around a circle table, working collaboratively on a math or writing task, or for independent reading around the room.
Our school is a place where kids feel safe, happy, and welcomed! The teachers love to teach, and they teach kids to love learning. We focus on fostering social and emotional development in our kids, because relationships are the key to having a strong community with a positive climate for learning.
My students are full of joy, and are eager to learn and succeed!
They come from many diverse backgrounds, and speak several different languages at home. Although many different ability levels are presented in my classroom, every single child is smart and takes risks that help them grow as individuals. Our diversity is our strength!
My Project
With the number of students in classrooms increasing every year, it becomes more and more difficult to fit everyone effectively into our limited workspace. For guided reading groups, we fit 5-6 students around a small circle table. Right now, the chairs we use are large, bulky, and take 4th graders a lot of time to move around the room.
With your donation, my students will have a convenient place to sit when they come to reading/math/writing groups around our meeting table!
They won't need to juggle their materials while also trying to move their chair. These stools will help cut down on wasted time and motivate students to work together collaboratively, even when not working at the circle table. They will be used when students need to sit up front for lessons too. Currently students sit on the floor, but stools would allow for more engagement and overall learning!
