Kindergartners are very busy kids who are constantly moving. My students are happy to come to school and learn new things. Five- and six-year-old students today are expected to learn much and produce much more than they have had to in the past. This can be very difficult for a young child full of energy. I would love to be able to give my student the ability to move freely to be able to release some of their energy while they are learning to read and write.
Having a set of stools for flexible seating will help the Kinders focus more when learning to read during our Guided Reading groups. While sitting in regular chairs, five- and six-year-old children move their little bodies constantly which, in turn, makes many fall out of them. If they had these stools which allow children to gently rock, they could purposely move around in their seats while focusing on their learning. The stools will also help the students build up their core muscles since they will need to sit up in order to balance on them. The stools will make their learning even more fun!
