This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are second-grade wonders. They give their all each and every day despite the many obstacles they have to overcome. Poverty is part of their life, but it does not define who they are or who they will become.

I went to this school from kindergarten to sixth grade and am constantly telling them that they can and will graduate and go to college just like I did if that is what they choose to do.

One day, I hope to see one or more of my students giving back to the area by returning as teachers and administrators.

My Project

We are in need of some stools to go around our kidney shape learning table.

My students are constantly worrying about falling or crushing the temporary stools we use for group work.

It would be nice to come to the group and focus on the learning of math or reading and not worry about getting the good seat or having to grab the desk chairs and maneuver through a sea of children to make it safely across the room to do a group project and then have to take it back again!
