This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My second graders come from all over the world. They each bring their own unique talents and experiences to the classroom and are incredibly excited about learning.
They are full of energy and enthusiasm and are beginning to come together to support one another!
They are passionate and love learning! As we read stories, they are constantly examining the illustrations and making observations that they are eager to share with one another. They are always asking questions, wondering why things work the way they do, or how things come about. They love working together with one another and encouraging each other to become leaders!
My Project
Two years ago, my class was blessed through Donorschoose with a photo printer, ink and photo paper to print out pictures of us being the amazing leaders that they are! My students have loved, not only posing and smiling for these pictures, but seeing them hung up in the hallways and throughout our classroom as well!
Unfortunately, after two years of printing pictures of us being respectful, and responsible leaders, we have run out of supplies to print our pictures!
This project will largely go to cover the materials necessary to again be able to show others, and remind ourselves of the leaders that we are!
In addition to the materials for our photo printer, we are also requesting materials for book clubs! Our kiddos love fairy tale books, and having small group sets of different Happily Ever After books will enable students to work together to read and study texts that they love!
