Stocking the Panther Pantry

My Students

Our students love Hermitage because it is a safe space, a space that fosters creativity, and a space to connect and learn with others. We do our best to meet the needs of every student and staff member and support our school's community.

The 1,500+ students at our school represent over 25 countries and speak more than 10 different languages.

These young people are thoughtful, hardworking, and eager to make their mark on the world. We want to provide them with the skills and care they need in order to reach their goals and give back to their community.

My Project

We created the Panther Pantry in response to student need for hygiene and food items a few years ago and our staff and community have done a great job keeping the Panther Pantry stocked with easy-to-prepare foods, snacks, and basic hygiene supplies.

Based on input from our front office staff and school nurses, we realize that our students also need clothing for emergencies.

Now we need new size-inclusive clothing items, such as sweatpants, socks, t-shirts, and underwear.

No one wants to add to the possible embarrassment of a situation by having to wear soiled clothing while waiting for a parent/guardian to pick them up, and some of our students would prefer to remain in school whenever possible. Having this clothing on hand allows them to get back to learning and feel safe at school.
