Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are "my kids," and they will always be my kids. I've seen them grow into amazing human beings who are generous and giving, humble, kind, determined and resourceful.
They give me hope for the future and they are the reason I look forward to going into work every morning.
We have formed a wonderful classroom family that genuinely cares for each other. I couldn't ask for more.
As a teacher, it is fulfilling to know they walk out of your room having grown academically, but more importantly, as better human beings.
My Project
Some of our supplies are used daily by students and are always needing to be replenished. The markers are used almost every day for reading and math and the kids love using them on their projects. Having enough supplies on hand for them to use daily will allow them to show their creativity.
Students' safety is priority, so wearing masks daily is crucial.
The kids are always in need of an extra mask and having them available in their size is a bonus.
The holidays are a wonderful time to look forward to and I love having the kids make some fun crafts. Having students make snowmen out of socks and decorating them has become a yearly tradition I am looking forward to and the supplies and crafts will bring joy to my kids. Many of the activities the students most enjoy are bought through Teachers Pay Teachers and having the funds to purchase them would be wonderful. They have many interactive resources that align to our standards while providing fun and creative practice for students. The kids enjoy doing the activities on paper and digitally, like learning their multiplication while multiplying.
