Stocked Up Rolling Carts and Book Bins for Table Groups
Help me give my students 4-tier rolling carts for each table group, pencil boxes that will hold supplies in each cart, and supplies to replenish what we have used this year, as well as crates to hold books.
My 4th grade class this year is such a sweet group of kids. They are very loving towards each other and I see the ways they help each other not only in the classroom, but also on the playground. My students are fun because they are at an age when they can soak up so much information like sponges, but also have different and unique personalities and learning needs.
I love that my students are all different and can learn to be themselves.
They are good at making friends and have funny stories to tell me after a weekend or holiday away. They are sweet and compassionate toward new students too!
My Project
This project is to re-vamp the organization in my classroom to make things efficient, quick, and easy for my students (getting supplies and books.) I am requesting 7 rolling carts, a bunch of pencil boxes, and file boxes for holding books. Read on!
My primary goal for this project is to increase efficiency, organization, and cut down on time spent in transitions.
One cart will be at each table group.
The first tier of the cart will be left empty for students to put work inside of, to avoid having everyone go turn in work to a bin across the classroom, as well as avoiding having students getting up and down during tests and quizzes, causing their peers to feel pressure.
The second tier will have 3 clear pencil boxes-- one filled with colored pencils (I requested in this project), one with crayons, and one with markers. The students at the table will be able to share those supplies.
The third tier will have colored pencil boxes with miscellaneous supplies such as kid scissors(I requested in this project), Expo markers, pencil sharpeners (I also requested), erasers, etc.
The bottom tier will have dictionaries for normal use, as well as weight to hold down the cart. It will also have baby wipes for students to be able to use when needed.
In addition to the rolling cart filled with supplies for students, I also am requesting file boxes. I intend to stack 2 file boxes, connected with zip ties, at each table, acting like shelves. Students will be able to store their books inside of these, which will be more efficient so that only one student has to collect the books needed for their group, without sending a bunch of students to the same area, cutting down on time and traffic.
