This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My classroom consists of 23 unique scholars! The students in my class are from a variety of diverse backgrounds. They come to school every day ready to learn and eager to see what each day will consist of. They love hands-on activities that help them build understanding across content areas.
My goal is to provide as many educational experiences as possible to help my students learn.
Our school is located in an urban community, where we receive Title 1 funding. Every child in our school receives free breakfast and free lunch. Majority of students walk to school or are bused to nearby housing.
My Project
All of my students (and I) would greatly benefit from an organized AND STOCKED classroom supplies center! From creating flipbooks that will help us practice our math concepts to color coding ancient civilizations in social studies, we need scissors and coloring utensils! We love using chart paper for anchor charts and thinking mats in our guided math/reading station. With a laminator, we can preserve our hard work! Lastly, we are asking for a class set of whiteboard erasers.
With an inviting classroom supplies center, my students will be able to have the materials they need to create, construct, and discover!
Time spent looking for materials will be kept to a minimum if we have the materials needed at hand. The supplies center will create a sense of community where my students can share!
