My students are curious and creative learners from rural West Virginia. Many are from families with low socioeconomic status, and they rely on public education as their primary means of support and encouragement. We work hard to overcome many obstacles in order to create a positive, student-centered learning environment that promotes creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration!
My students are thinkers, writers, readers, mathematicians, scientists, and artists.
They are inquisitive, persistent, and ready to overcome any hurdles that they may face in order to become successful!
My Project
Few things are better than the feeling of having ample supplies to create student projects, small group activities, partner games, supplemental tools, visual aids, or classroom decorations. Most of these things require the king of paper: cardstock. When cardstock is in stock, nothing creates better projects! When cardstock is in stock, teacher creativity flourishes! When cardstock is in stock, the possibilities are endless!
But, cardstock is a luxury in the public education classroom, and when cardstock is in stock, it is guaranteed to be hoarded, hidden, and handed out sparingly.
We often end up spending our yearly allotment on supplies that are more necessary for day to day learning, and the money for cardstock comes out of our own pockets, which means we don't usually have much! Cardstock creates lasting projects, durable tools and aids, and beautiful classroom decorations! One way or another, we always figure out a way to stock up on cardstock!
