My Students

Located in the northwest corner of our state, we are the second largest school district in the state. A diverse student population allows our students to get a snapshot of the world.

Our school of innovation is very unique in our state.

We design new and creative alternatives to the existing instructional and traditional practices. The goal is to improve academic performance and learning for all students in a personalized learning environment for the students in our middle school environment.

My Project

Last year, we introduced the Stock Market Game simulation to the students in our school, and it was certainly well received. Consistently we hear our students question the relevance and connection of learning.

The Stock Market Game simulation, made available by the SIFMA (Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association) Foundation, certainly engages students in the middle school environment.

Plus, students have to collaborate. For some students, this is the biggest learning experience. They just need the fall and spring fees to participate.

Students are constantly online, so one reason this program is successful is because everything is online. They research online. They read current event articles online. They purchase their stocks and check their rankings online.
