My students are a group of very active 5-6 year old students. There are 19 big personalities within our four classroom walls and that always makes for a fun day in Mrs. Lusano's class! Our class uses inquiry-based learning to explore the world around us. These kindergartners enjoy hands-on learning and using a variety of tools throughout the course of their learning experiences.
My students are just entering into the International Baccalaureate programme where they are learning to be inquirers, communicators, and thinkers to name a few.
My students are special because they are all very different from one another, yet they accept each other and make a great team. Each has something important and unique to add to our group, which makes for a lot of fun and great learning each and every day.
My Project
Throughout the year, we have integrated different types of flexible seating into our classroom. With this project, we are seeking two additional options. The soft cushions will be easy to move around with us as we work in different areas of the room. The stools are also easy to move as well.
With these two options, students will be able to wiggle while they work throughout our room.
The other seats that we have already like stability balls and Hokki stools have been huge hits with my students! I would also say they're huge hits with me because I see my students staying on task and getting their work done. In kindergarten, it is important to have students moving throughout the course of our day. Allowing them to move while they work has been wonderful and beneficial for all of my students.
