I work with sixth grade science students. They ask lots of questions and are learning how to become successful middle school students. The school has a diverse population of approximately 1100 middle school students with 50% of our population receiving special education services.
The students have varying backgrounds and learning abilities, but they work as a team to learn and teach each other in the classroom.
Everyone is treated fairly and without prejudice. Each and every one of the students wants to succeed, as well as help their peers to do so as well.
I am working to get some Chromebooks into my classroom so students can access the Google Suite. This will allow me to provide the information via Google Classroom. They will also be able to submit assignments online when necessary.
The ability to have technology in my classroom will also help me provide students who need accommodations for reading the ability to utilize online resources to access the curriculum along with their peers.
In addition, when used appropriately access to technology in the classroom will help prepare students for the future and provides them with the opportunity to enhance the interaction with classmates.
