This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are so excited and eager to learn their orchestra music! String orchestra instruments and string orchestra music is a new world to them, but they are so drawn to it! Unfortunately, my students and their families cannot afford their own instruments nor the proper materials and accessories to help them successfully learn their string orchestra music.

The violin bow rosin is essential to produce a clear and strong tone.

The powder from the rosin helps the bow hair to stick and grab the string. Without it, gliding the bow hair across the string will not produce sound. Most of the students cannot afford to purchase their own violin bow rosin. Those who can do not have transportation to take them to the nearest instrumental music store.
