I teach kindergarten at a Title 1 School. We are blessed with a diverse group of children from various backgrounds. Many of my children do not have the luxury of having English speakers in the home or limited English, making completing homework and learning English difficult. The parents are often willing to help, just limited in how they can do so. Even my English speaking parents are sometimes limited in how they can help as they sometimes work 2 or more jobs or are illiterate themselves. My children currently enjoy taking home leap pads to help them in their reading. I would like to expand our leap library to include the Fridge Phonics Magnetic set and The Letter Factory Game. This allows the children to explore letters and sounds. The Fridge Phonics would provide extra support for my English Language learners are well as those struggling to learn letters and sounds and the game would provide another fun avenue to learning. We would love to have 3 sets of the Fridge Phonics Magnetic sets and 1 Letter Factory Game. Extra batteries and charger would be greatly appreciated due to all of the leap items requiring batteries. We have learned that our leap pads really eat up the batteries. I truly believe our kids can learn! It just takes lots of practice. By providing these items, you are encouraging home involvement and more learning.
