Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
It doesn't matter what kind of day you are having, you could be sad, tired, or maybe just a little melancholy... but when you open that door and 31 bouncing 5 and 6-year-olds are on the other side of it, you can't help but smile! I always say if I could just bottle their energy and sell it... I'd be a millionaire!
The majority of my students are second language learners.
They come to school with two jobs, to learn the curriculum and to learn another language! The growth in the kindergarten year always amazes me. Not only do they learn in the content areas, but they grow so much in their ability to speak and understand the English language.
Many of their parents sacrifice so that their children can have a better life. I am so proud and grateful to be a part of their journey.
My Project
We are a kindergarten/first grade classroom equipped with tables and chairs rather than desks. These fantastic seat sacks would allow my students to have their materials at the tips of their fingers and avoid clutter.
Little minds and fingers need help staying organized!
Seat sacks will allow each student to store their library books, practice workbooks and other materials they need on a daily basis. It would help us save instructional time in class and not waste all the time it takes to pass out and collect such items!
The smooth and orderly running of a classroom makes it an effective learning environment. Please help me get the most out of my instructional time while keeping my students organized and on task!
