Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach over 500 students ranging from Kindergarten to Fifth grade at a Title I school. My students live in a rural part of South Carolina and come from a variety of diverse backgrounds.

My students are creative, smart, and eager to have hands-on learning activities that will prepare them to become 21st-century learners.

I want all of my students to have the opportunity to create artwork with all the materials they need and provide them with a fun, engaging, and hands-on learning environment.

My Project

The glue sticks and permanent markers will be used by students to complete paper sculptures, paintings, collages and drawings this school year.

The glue sticks will be used by Kindergarten-2nd grade students to create paper collages, 3-D paper sculptures, and glue small decorations on their artwork.

The class packs ensure that all of the 250 Kindergarten-2nd grade students will have access to the materials this year.

The permanent markers will be used by students in the 3rd-5th grade to outline their drawings. The permanent markers make it easier for students to have well-defined areas to color and paint their projects. With hundreds of 3rd-5th grade students, materials like markers get used up fast.
