Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a 7th grade Math Teacher in Newark, NJ. My students come from various backgrounds. We are the top porforming school in the district and this is a direct reflection of their constant dedication and willingness to succeed. My students persevere through the hardships of their home life and come to school everyday with an eagerness to learn because they are aware of the value of education. They are aware that through hard work comes great success. I couldn’t be prouder of the hard work and effort I see them give to Math everyday.
My Project
To review standards taught, I use Math Games and Centers to keep my students entertained and excited about learning. For example, the Jenga style blocks, I can write Math Inequalities on them. When a student pulls one out, they are tasked with solving the inequality written on them.
Wouldn’t that be so much fun, instead of the old boring work sheet or Math problems.
The buzzers can help me clearly identify which group has an answer first during Jeopardy Review Games! Storage Caddies will help keep centers organized from class period to class period.
Having 120 students in 7th grade and approximately 31 students to a small class, organization keeps everyone sane and happy! This will help us not lose any materials by mistake. The magnetic File Folders are to place on my bookcase so students can turn in their center work before exiting to receive credit. This helps keep everything in one place so nothing gets lost or forgotten. Right by the door to remind students to turn it in. Help me, help them. Any donation little or small is appreciated. We thank you for your kindness.
