This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our school is located in the rural part of Selma, AL. Most of our students are from low income families and living in communities surrounded by crime. School is a safe-haven for many of our students.
My students are my inspiration; although they have educational gaps, they are determined to try their best.
My students' drive for learning motivates me to continue into my 37th year of teaching. I love my students' passion for excellence.
My third grade students love Math, group work, and hands-on activities. They thrive and are fully engaged when working with technology.
My Project
My students need chromebooks to help them engage with interactive lessons and prepare them for the 21st Century.
Chromebooks will allow students to engage with other peers, both near and far, within the classroom and with classrooms on the other side of the world.
My students will be able to collaborate with each other, have access to research tools, and the opportunity to learn 21st century skills.
Chromebooks will help my students prepare for high school, college, and the fast pace work world. The students will also be able to work in their preferred method via group work, hands-on activities, and project-based learning.
