Ms. Yu from Baltimore MD is requesting classroom basics through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need basic classroom supplies for the upcoming school year, such as relevant and contemporary young adult novels, chart paper, construction paper, craft supplies, and more items for the classroom.

My 10th grade students are inspiring, hard-working, and energetic! They are always looking for ways to challenge themselves and push themselves to be better. The most amazing thing about my students is their pride for their city, Baltimore.
"It can be tragic and the murder rate is too high, but I will always love Baltimore as my home" is what a student wrote in her introduction letter.
My students have a complicated relationship with their home, which is why they need to be offered more opportunities to engage with the city in a meaningful and enjoyable way.
Funding for classroom supplies is low at my high school in Baltimore City. I have compiled a list of basic classroom supplies that will allow my students to be creative while learning next year in my 10th grade English classroom. Items include construction paper, white out, writing pens, grading pens, file folders to create portfolios, a tray to organize student work, different colored copy paper to differentiate assignment tasks, dry eraser and cleaner for more board use, and chart paper for collaborative activities.
The items I'm most excited about are the young adult novels I've chosen for my classroom library.
I want to make reading more fun and accessible for all of my students, who are all young and bright teens of color.
The supplies I'm requesting are basic necessities that every classroom deserves. Please help me build a strong classroom for my students!
