Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students come from the inner-city. Many of them have experienced trauma in their lives at a young age and school is an important constant in their lives. Physical education is one of their favorite classes and it works as an outlet for them to blow off steam, learn new things, and have fun!

These students have so much to give and will work hard if they are given the materials needed to do so.

My students look forward to their Physical Education class and would love to have a new exciting way to get physically fit.

My Project

These aerobic steppers will help students to achieve a better level of fitness and teach them a fun way to be physically active. The school I teach in does not have a gym for physical education. I teach activities such as soccer, kickball etc. outside when the weather permits and have a classroom to teach in for when it does not.

Physical fitness is extremely important and with the small indoor space I have to work with I need to find activities that can raise students fitness levels in a small space.

These steppers, along with a fun DVD to follow, will allow that to happen!
