Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come to school every day to learn, explore and be engaged. However, It is very important to expose children to proper learning environments. My upcoming class will have a variety of needs and I want to provide them with all the options I can to make their 2nd grade year the best it can be! I will be teaching a second-grade class of 22 students. My students are eager to learn and try new things, but they have many odds stacked against them. Our school is located in an urban area. My students come from a low socioeconomic background. All my students receive free breakfast and lunch. However, we have created a school culture that is nurturing while setting high expectations.
My students need a classroom to learn, belong, feel significant, and have fun!
The QBall will give my students who speak so low an opportunity to be heard by the other students. It will inspire others to want to participate and get engaged in the learning!
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students are materials we will need every day in the classroom. Help be part of making their classroom supplies granted. The pencils, erasers and white board erasers will be use every day for working on math, science, social studies and writing.The Qball will give those students who have a hard time speaking up a voice to want to participate in the classroom with discussions and student led activities. It allows for everyone to hear the child speak loud and clearly. Card stock will be used to help publish their writing pieces and create their student led centers. It will embellish their work and help promote pride in their work. The laminator will be used for all classroom needs to help create centers and keep work new.
