This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Our students are energized and motivated to complete their daily tasks for fitness. They have learned that assessments are essential to measure growth. They are up to the challenge to maintain and monitor their personal and class growth.

Our building is a magnet school within our district with a medical vision.

Our students attend with the intent on pursuing a career associated with medicine. Many of our students need to leave very early in the am, and take 2 buses in order to arrive at our building for classes. In spite of this, we maintain a 95% attendance rate. Our students not only attend school but excel at their academics.

My Project

Students will wear the pedometers during PE class and log in steps earned during activity. They will log daily results on the Lenovo tablet, create a spreadsheet, and ultimately a graph depicting growth throughout week, month, marking period and semester.

This project will encourage students to move more to create higher number of steps to promote greater growth of improvement.

Meanwhile, they will be improving their fitness level/health. The pedometers and Lenovo tablet will allow students to visually see the fitness levels improve.
