Ms. Moon from Decatur GA is requesting classroom basics through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students lab supplies for their laboratory activities, dry erase boards for independent learning time, and classroom supplies that will help them be effective in their learning.

Every day, when my students walk into the classroom, they are determined to let their light shine! They are full of energy and eager to learn. They love completing hands-on activities, stations, and science labs that propels them to think like the scientist they are! Their bright and bubbly personalities inspire me to aid their personal development and scholastics to become the best versions of themselves.
Despite a lot of the challenges in life that my students are faced with, they continue to push through adversity.
Our school’s location site is in the heart of the Eastside, which is about 20 minutes outside of Atlanta, Georgia. No matter their background struggles or economic disparities, they truly deserve the best education there is to offer.
All of my students are alike with their creative minds and their curiosity to learning. However, each of them grasps their academics in a different way. I want to be able to reach their learning styles and differentiate rigorous classroom instruction by use of technology, active labs, and classroom modeling. I want to be sure that they are reaching new heights not only as scientists but holistically as a 21st century student.
My students are always excited for 7th grade Life Science. However, it takes a lot of time and dedication to prepare for class and labs for my mini scientists because we are short of resources. Therefore, these resources are just what the students need to become expertise in the field of science. We recently just started a new unit on hereditary. The cross-section flower model will be a great hands on model that will help them master their standard on inheriting genes. The whiteboards will help our mini scientists record data, practice punnett square word problems, and utilize them during work period stations.
My mini scientists deserve the necessary scientific tools that will help them develop their critical thinking skills, increase their literacy skills, and use models that will improve their academic learning environment.
The students have been wanting to use microscopes but we have not had any slides to do so, which is why the lab slides will be helpful in any of our units. The highlighters are needed for them to highlight important academic vocabulary throughout their units. The learning buzzers are for active classroom challenges, specifically for preparation before our unit test for quiz bowls and popcorn questions.
Overall, my mini scientists need to stay safe and clean before, during, and after all labs. The gloves and cleaning wipes are to help them complete these tasks. The clock was recommended by the students because they would love to keep up with the school bell schedule.
With your help, we can get our future scientists the resources they need. Together, let us send a message to our scholars through these resources knowing that no matter where they come from, they can obtain all of the resources with the help of others and their education !
