Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
What can I say about my students? Well, the truth is that I haven't met them yet! I am awaiting my class roster, but I can't say that I've been waiting long. You see, I was just hired for the position yesterday and my mind is spinning with my growing list of to-do's. The light at the end of the tunnel will be meeting my students and getting the school year started.
I am a first year teacher, entering a new district, starting a new grade level, and I am trying to fill my empty classroom.
All students deserve the best; help me make that possible!
I have purchased a classroom set of the essential supplies (pencils, erasers, scissors, colored pencils, paper, etc.) and engaging decor, but this classroom is missing just about everything else. Please help me provide for these students!
My Project
I have requested magnetic math manipulatives, composition journals, paint, and lots of construction paper. These resources are essential to the type of visual and hands-on learning I wish to provide!
As of now, my students will be able to write, color, glue and cut!
While much can be accomplished with those supplies, I wish to show base-10 blocks rather than drawing them. My new classroom has 3 magnetic whiteboards, so adding in magnetic visuals will help accelerate learning! I also included a lot of construction paper and paint brushes and paint. I want my students to make a new type of art each week, rather than just studying it.
To do all of this, it will require resources that I currently am unable to provide, financially speaking.
