Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
President Barack Obama once said, "Computers are going to be a big part of our future...and that future is yours to shape"
Please help me shape the future of my students by funding my STEM project.
I want to take my students to the next level regarding computer science and coding.
Students within our classes and technology clubs are exposed to coding and computer science on a daily basis. In addition, we have participated in numerous Scratch projects, Hour of Code events, and field trips to technology organizations. All of this has been done through volunteer efforts and free resources within the educational community. We need help to continue our wonderful programs.
My Project
The requested coding resources such as Code Monkey will go to the after school clubs listed below. The goal is to help students grasp computational thinking. I want them to see how coding and computer science concepts are all around us. Our lives are essentially one big algorithm. We follow steps within everything we do in our lives. Lastly, these clubs exist within limited and re-purposed lessons. STEM funding from Donors Choose would bring free resources & lesson plans back to my technology programs.
The world has changed within technology.
I want to pave the way for the students who will come after me.
