My Students
As a teacher and the K-5 Science Content Leader in a Title I elementary school, I often times notice that our students are not exposed to science outside of the classroom. Over seventy percent of our campus receives free or reduced-price lunch and often times, we have students who are not capable of even having their parents supply their own school supplies.
Our school is located in an area that was hit and affected by Hurricane Harvey, but our students are actively coming to school eager to learn.
In my classroom, I work hard to ensure a safe, secure and comfortable environment for learning and seek ways to make learning innovative. We have created a culture on our campus where our students actually look forward to the bus pulling up at their houses in the morning to bring them to school.
These kids will take advantage of any learning opportunity that is brought their way. Our motto at our campus is reach for the stars and our students do their best to reach beyond them.
My Project
5th grade is a very great year for our students because it is their last year of elementary school. We need Pencils, twin pocket folders, ink, binding covers and binding combs to use to create an elementary scrapbook and memory book for our students. These supplies will be used to create, print and deliver to each of our kids.
After Hurricane Harvey we want our kids to remember more about this school year than the tragedies we all faced!
We want them to be excited about going to the junior school and have a keep sake to keep forever.
These supplies will help us. The students will create their scrapbooks using these materials.
