This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are 5th grade STEM students, performing in a Project Based school model. We are a pilot school in this area for both school models, yet we are a charter school that does not have the funding from county taxes.

The students are extremely active in their learning, with wild imaginations!

In our classrooms, we encourage students to find the way that is comfortable for them to learn. Many students do not find that a traditional desk and chair are conducive to learning.

My Project

My students often find it easier to learn when they are in a comfortable position. This makes it hard to provide for the students when there is no place for them to write what they are learning. We often go out to our school garden to read our class novel, but must find ways to write on worksheets outside. There is also minimal seating, besides cinderblocks, for the students to sit on. This flexible seating brings uniqueness to educational learning for these students. These laps desks, and stools will make a difference in the writing, and learning skills of the students!
