A typical day in my classroom consists of the joyous pursuit of knowledge for all of us. I want my students to be confident lifelong learners that know how to use resources independently. "The good man is the friend of all living things." We should study nature so that we can all be good people.
We have a very caring and loving community at our school because our school is a multi-age school where students take care of each other.
The flood washed out all of the roads to our school, so we had to split our school up into two classrooms. My co-teacher has our displaced students in town, while I have the rest of our students in the mountains.
We miss each other tremendously, therefore we would like to do a research project together that includes the environment in each of our locations.
My Project
We will use the weather stations to study the weather in each of our locations, and we will use the animal books to study the wildlife in each of our areas. We will get together regularly to compare our data.
The books about Colorado will be used to study our state and relate the differences between our state and other states.
I ordered the rug so that our students will have a daily reminder of how our state is situated on a map in relation to other states.
This project is very important to our students because not only will it help them understand nature and become better people for it, it will give them the opportunity to do something fun and educational together.
Our separation, because of the flood, has been really hard on all of our students, and our students need to see their friends.
