This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our students are a unique, diverse, collaborative, and multi-talented set of innovative thinkers. We speak different languages and come from places all over the world.
Our students have a knack for project-based and challenge-based learning, hands-on invention projects, making, and collaborating with each other.
By providing unique opportunities in science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) education for 21st-century learning, we hope to achieve just about anything. Making and exploring are pillars of our learning environment. We are inspired to learn!
My Project
We experience weather-related phenomena every day, but to properly understand it, we must first look at weather from a global viewpoint. Students will work together in teams to find solutions to challenges facing their school community. Our project brings together weather-related resources designed to help everyone learn the science of weather. The project will reinforce content knowledge, and get students engaged in science that affects us all each and every day. Projects include collapsible cans, telescope refractors, meteorology kits, and more! So the next time you find yourself thinking about extreme weather events or just that string of rainy days, students will build weather stations, investigate phenomena with hands-on labs, and research patterns to investigate and learn more.
