Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have the pleasure of working with beautiful and bright bilingual students! My students are hardworking, responsible, and determined to succeed! Our school is a Title I school which limits the resources available to us.
Despite the challenges they face daily, our students come to school ready to learn!
We are in a dual immersion classroom and feel so grateful to be able to learn in Spanish and English every day. My students know that their knowledge of two languages will benefit them in the long run.
I want my students to know that anything is possible with hard work. All of my students know that after high school comes college! Please help us encourage that idea by helping enhance our classroom environment.
My Project
This year, I am using a program called Mystery Science to teach fun and engaging STEM lessons. Students love Mystery Science because they can do hands-on lessons and learn while engaging in higher-order thinking.
My students love Mystery Science because they can also challenge and apply their STEM skills in new ways!
Mystery Science uses materials that teachers usually have around the classroom. As a new teacher, I don't have many of these materials.
My project is asking for materials needed to complete all the mystery science lessons my students will be doing this year. There is everything from magnets for our "Invisible Forces" unit to cups with lids for our "Stormy Skies" unit. We hope that you will help us in bringing our project to life!
