"It's Friday! Friday! FriDAY! Don't wanna work, I want to play!" This is a favorite chant of my fifth graders who visit at least three classrooms each Friday singing and praising for their hard work that they have completed that week. The students' enthusiasm for celebrating their hard work permeates throughout the entire building.
One hundred percent of our school qualifies for free breakfast and lunch in our rural community, but participating in a variety of activities definitely keeps these fifth graders engaged and willing to learn.
We also have a local National Guard Unit in our area and have a lot of military families with parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins serving in our beautiful country. Our staff also has the opportunity to focus on the homeless students in our area by attending workshops and lectures to meet the needs of our students. We are dedicated to helping our students and their families in every way we can!
My Project
My students need these 7 laptop computers to do a variety of projects throughout the year! I have my fifth graders access their Google accounts daily with assignments from all areas of our curriculum including stem projects in science and math.
My students all need time on the computers, and our classroom lacks the technology to make this possible.
It isn't easy finding the time for all my students to work on classroom projects without the necessary technology in the classroom.
My students not only work on stem research projects for science and social studies at school, they also would use these computers to access our math and reading programs online.
Not all students have access to work on the assignments at home, so having the computers within our classroom readily available for students to use would be extremely beneficial. It would definitely make our classroom more manageable! Having these extra laptop computers is just what we need in our classroom.
