Mrs. Truitt from Bakersfield CA is requesting Educational Kits & Games through DonorsChoose, the #1 classroom funding site for teachers.

STEM-ulating Exploration!

My students need hands-on, critical thinking, cooperative learning activities, such as Snap Circuits Jr. kits, Magformers Sets, and Lego Sets, to create a classroom full of engaged and excited learners who will obtain the real-world experiences they need for future career success!

My Students

Benjamin Franklin said, "Tell me and I’ll forget. Show me and I may remember. Involve me and I learn." A variety of tools for STEM investigations will provide the spark that ignites the imagination of every student in my classroom. Interactive, thought provoking experiences are just what my students need to explore and learn math, science, and engineering skills!

My students are a creative bunch of third graders who want to learn and explore in new, fun, and exciting ways about the world around them.

My students come to school with big smiles and positive attitudes everyday. Our school has a large percentage of students whose parents' income is at or below the poverty level, but still they come to school everyday with a smile on their face, eager to learn. Most of my students are deprived of opportunities and experiences many of us take for granted. I would love to provide some of those experiences for each one of my students!

My Project

Students in my third grade classroom have a lot of energy and are yearning to learn and explore everyday. The Snap Circuits Jr. kits, Magformers Sets, Lego Sets, Marble Run Sets, and ET Construction Set will allow the students to practice their problem solving skills and will also allow students to show their creative skills in their own individual way. The kits and building sets will give students the opportunity to grow and explore in new areas outside of their regular classroom subjects in a learning environment that focuses on student interests, small groups, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving.

My students need hands-on learning opportunities that extend their knowledge and experience beyond what “paper and pencil” assignments and activities can give them.

The building materials will engage my students in higher-order thinking in new, stimulating, and meaningful ways. The building and constructing materials will become a fast favorite of my students!
