Enthusiasm about science is what makes my day! That is what my kids bring each and every day. This love for learning is what fuels my passion and helps me to be the best I can for my kids. I want to give them every opportunity I can.
9th grade is an age where huge impacts can be made in a child's life.
My students are very curious and excited about new things. They are open minded and love a challenge! We are hoping to expand our rocketry team to more students and get a diverse group of learners involved in STEM activities.
My Project
The materials we are hoping to get will make our rocketry team really "take off"!
Rocketry is an amazing way to learn about engineering, physics, and technology!!
We compete in a rocketry contest known as TARC. (Team America Rocketry Challenge) This year's challenge is to launch a rocket over 850 ft carrying 3 eggs and resembling the Saturn V rocket. How awesome is that!
Unfortunately, rocket engines are not re-usable and cost money. The rocket engines that we will be purchasing will help us to do plenty of trial launches. With each launch, we record data and try to engineer our way to the perfect rocket. By donating, it will reduce the cost of materials needed. Therefore, more kids can be a part of the team without having to worry about the cost. I am hoping this will allow anyone who wants to join and be a part of our team, be able to do so.
