My Students
I teach Emotional Support students in grades 4-6 in a low-income school district. My students are very energetic and eager to learn. They are working very hard to improve their social skills and become successful academically.
STEM activities are designed to be hands-on and keep them engaged while allowing them to collaborate, cooperate and communicate.
I want to foster their interest in STEM-related activities and I feel that working together will also help them practice essential social skills.
School is often times the only structure in their life, and we work hard to provide them with positive experiences. They are very social, creative, and enjoy interacting with one another.
My Project
My students struggle academically and socially. However, they love hands-on activities, because everyone can be successful no matter what their reading levels are. The kits I am asking for integrate history, reading, and STEM. I want to prepare them for the future, and the skills they will learn with the aide of this product will be beneficial for them. STEM activities not only spark curiosity, but help them practice important social skills they struggle with. This product will not only allow them to communicate with one another, collaborate when completing projects or reading instructions, but also encourage them to support one another. The Famous Inventors Problem Solving STEM Kits will encourage them to think outside the box and take ownership of their learning.
