Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have 26 amazing students who come to school each day eager to learn. I have a very diverse group of students coming from many different ethnic backgrounds that make our class an exciting place to learn! My students enjoy reading and playing fun math activities. The students in our school come from different income backgrounds as well, which puts our school poverty rate over 61%. This can sometimes make it difficult to meet the needs of every student. The faculty and I work very hard to meet all these needs throughout the school year!
My Project
I am excited to introduce STEM bins into my classroom! These will help my students expand their creativity and perform some hands-on learning activities in the classroom! I will be able to use these bins with our reading, math, and science lessons. They will allow students to create projects that go along with our lessons to demonstrate mastery of the skill being taught.
The STEM bins will make such a huge impact on student learning.
I will also be purchasing a storage unit for the STEM bins. These will allow my students to keep the bins organized and allow them to access all of the materials they will need to create their projects!
I will be purchasing headphones for my students to use along with their iPads in the classroom while utilizing the STEM bins. These will help my students with different STEM assignments in the classroom that require an iPad.
I know that these items will help engage my students and make them excited about learning!
