My incredible group of 26 second graders are located in Surprise, Arizona. They are so full of wonder and curiosity. They are creative and inquisitive. If you were to walk in my classroom, you would most likely see students out of their desks. They would be sprawled out all around!
They work in pairs and small groups working cooperatively together to brainstorm, create and share their ideas.
It may sound loud and look busy, but this is how we learn!
My Project
These supplies will be used to create STEM bins for the entire class. The STEM Bins will contain various blocks and magnetic tiles. Each STEM Bin contains challenges for the students to make and create. Through trial and error, students will complete the challenges and tasks. They will communicate their successes and triumphs. Students will have daily opportunities to work in the STEM bins to learn through hands-on learning.
We all know students learn best by using hands-on tools and manipulating.
These STEM bins will get them out of their seats and actively learning and keep them highly engaged.
