This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our student population is approximately four hundred students in a high poverty area in Philadelphia. Our school provides rigorous academics in a safe learning environment.
My first grade classroom is evolving to meet the demands of Common Core.
The students that I teach are amazing and are hard working readers and writers. Students walk into my classroom every day ready to learn and are excited for what the day will bring.
I would like for all of my students to be at or above the first grade reading level by the end of the year. It is important that I provide the best opportunity for my students to succeed and develop their love of reading.
My Project
These STEM supplies will allow our class to explore the exciting world of science, technology, engineering and math. Incorporating STEM into the classroom is essential to teach students 21st century skills and to introduce them to a whole new world of careers.
Help me to ignite my students' passion for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.
These supplies will go with our curriculum and allow students time to be kids and explore while developing crucial skills on a daily basis. They will also develop important social skills that will help them as they move on through school.
With the direction our society has been headed, it is crucial that these skills and activities are incorporated into our daily instruction. These STEM supplies will open a world of opportunity for my students.
