My third grade gifted and talented students are very active!
I have a classroom full of bright, energetic students.
They are our future scientists, lawyers, teachers, and world changers. These children live very active lives outside the classroom. They are involved in baseball, basketball, dance, gymnastics, swimming, and other activities. My students in the Gifted and Talented program are a group of curious and insightful children. I am always looking for new ways to challenge them, ignite their passion for learning, and feed their desire to explore new topics.
My Project
I want to give "my kids" the opportunity to construct, create, and learn through PLAY by building structures using construction sets. They need tools such as Qualors, K'nex Magnetic Blocks, Rubik's cubes, Tinkertoys, Osmo game, and Brain Flakes! They will be given a goal to make their creations useful and will be asked to make adjustments and conduct trials. These manipulatives and products will also support their logic and reasoning skills. Research shows that occupations in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math field are on the rise. By integrating science, technology, math, and logical thinking students become actively engaged in their own learning!
