Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a Middle School special education teacher, teaching 6th-grade math and science. I teach students in an underserved community, in a Title I school with limited resources.
My special education students have a variety of struggles that they must overcome every day, inside and outside of school.
It is difficult for many of my students to learn in a conventional way. I do my best to address their individual needs in order for them to be successful. And in order to do this, I would like to ensure an inclusive learning environment!
My Project
In our special education classes, we are lucky to have a number of interactive online programs that cater to individual student needs. My students have regular access to laptops, which they use during instruction time as well as during their free time. They have a number of programs they can use that target their individual needs. These programs help me scaffold my lessons and modify math, science and life skills content to meet my students where they are and target specific skills individually.
With these headphones, my students will be able to fully interact with academic online programming, specifically targeting their academic and emotional needs.
So many of my students present as auditory-visual learners. We have the visual part down, all we need are the auditory aids! Please help my students access the full programs available to them, through the use of these headphones.
