Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

At our elementary school we have amazing students, many of whom come from households with lower socioeconomic status. We want to support them in their use of technology to be successful and competitive in the future.

Most of our students are also English Language Learners and they work hard in both languages.

We say, "Being bilingual is a super power!"

They are so excited about using our new devices! They are learning new technological life skills at a rapid pace, but occasionally they have difficulty writing with just a finger on our touch screen devices.

My Project

Help us give our students who have limited access to STEM projects an advantage. We've received some wonderful donations for creating STEM projects. We just need somewhere to store them. The 5 shelves will help us stay organized and the wheels will make this storage unit able to be shared among our teachers.

Our emergent bilingual students will get a chance to shine while using hands-on learning to demonstrate their engineering skills.

By incorporating the building and constructing of devices with the technology skills they are gaining, they will be well prepared to be successful in competitive fields such as math and science and break the cycle of poverty.
