Mrs. Day from Eastover NC is requesting Computers & Tablets through DonorsChoose, the #1 classroom funding site for teachers.

STEM Stations

Help me give my students tools to strengthen their STEM stills. Each activity targets multiple STEM concepts in fun and engaging ways for all students. While engaging in these activities my students will forget they are even learning.

My Students

This group of bright 2nd graders have a passion to learn and their desire for science is grand! They love to laugh, play, win and learn. Some of their favorite activities were using the iPads and computers, going outside and definitely gym class! But most of all they LOVED science.

Last year I taught 1st grade and this year I am moving up with them to 2nd grade.

One of my goals this year is to foster the love of science they have by being able to provide them with an engaging science time period. However, in order to provide each child with the opportunity to grow to their fullest potential I need STEM activities for their use.

My Project

Students learn best by doing. And with these hands on resources my students will be able to do just that.

Osmo learning games makes it fun for children to learn, using Toys as Teaching Tools.

Osmo merges tactile exploration with innovative technology, actively engaging children in the learning process. When using Osmo students will practice using creativity, problem-solving, confidence gaining, child-led, hands-on, curriculum inclusion, social/emotional skills, STEM/STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering Math & Art) and many more educational capabilities. Also apart of the package are the shapes & placing in designs (Tangram), problem solving/early physics (Newton), creative drawing skills (Masterpiece), counting with numbers/dice (Numbers), letters, spelling & vocabulary (Words) for students to use. Osmo is approved by parents and teachers worldwide, used in over 30,000 classrooms.

Think Fun's Gravity Maze is a logic game that can be played single player or multi player. Kids love it and it was awarded toy of the year. Gravity Maze is built to develop critical thinking skills. Playing through the increasingly difficult challenges will improve logical reasoning, spatial reasoning and planning skills, all through fun game play.

It might look like a silly little game but Engineering Ants use creativity to build solutions to help free the ants. Engineering Ants inspires kids to invent design and build. Players help each other, not play against each other. No one will be left out.

All of the activities wished will benefit students science, technology, engineering, art, and math abilities. I hope you consider donating to our classroom.
